Harvey Arthur Berger passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He touched many lives with his humor and gentle spirit. His youth was spent in Menlo Park, California. He graduated from Menlo Atherton High School, Foothill College, and attended San Jose State. Saratoga has been his residence for the last 40 years.
Harvey began Berger Metal Fabrication in 1974. He enjoyed running the company with his employees, whom he adored and, in return, adored him. He loved the annual Berger Company Summer Picnics enjoyed by the employees, families, and friends.
Harvey enjoyed anything with a motor attached to it. He flew Remote Airplanes, sponsored Robotic teams, and tinkered on cars throughout his life. For many years, he rode dirt motorcycles with his friends. In addition, Harvey enjoyed snow skiing, golf, water skiing and bicycling, along Los Gatos Creek Trail. In the 1950's he was a Junior Rooter for the Stanford University Football team. Attending and watching Football, Baseball, and Golf games brought him great pleasure. In addition, he coached his daughters' Soft Ball and Soccer teams throughout their elementary school years. In later years, Harvey and Beth enjoyed traveling with family and friends.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beth, of Saratoga, loving daughters Courtney Powers (Sean) of Morgan Hill, Christin Lindberg (Greg) of Redwood City, and his grandson Cooper Arthur Lindberg. Sisters in Law; Karen Berger and Debra Berger. Nieces and Nephews Karlo Berger, Annie Gjelsvik, Astrid Berger, Lief Berger Jake Berger, Ingrid McLane, Henry McLane Franny McLane, Hillary Berger, Jason Berger, Maureen Berger, Ethan Berger, Sophia Berger, and Liam Berger. He was predeceased by his parents, Clara and Col. Harvey Berger, and his brothers Gerald Berger and Thomas Berger.
His generous, loving spirit will be missed by all that knew him.
A Celebration of Harvey's Life will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 2 pm-6 pm, at the Saratoga Foothill Club, 20399 Park Place, Saratoga.
