Linda,
I learned about Joe's passing at last weekend's HBS reunion for the class of 1982, which my husband Nick was part of (Section A). The news came as a shock as Joe was such a vibrant man. We worked together at Ohmeda while I was an employee and after I started my consulting work. He loved you and the boys so much - it was clear that family was priority. I learned so much from his keen intellect and ability to work well with people and motivate them to a desired action. His enthusiasm for management as a calling was infectious. He was a man of such integrity. I have the short HBS write up if you want to send me your address [email protected]

I recently learned of Joe's passing. I pass my condolences to Linda and his family. I worked with Joe for many years at Ohmeda in Boulder. Joe was an amazing mentor for me. He was the smartest, kindest, most principled person I have ever been around. Yet with a wicked sense of humor. He will surely be missed but he will also be long remembered. I have many indelible memories of Joe. One of my favorites is when he joined our company as General Manager. He made it a point to learn the names of all 250 employees in the first 60 days. An amazing feat that made him a hero immediately. His spirit is with us. Jay Waddell

I am so sad about cousin Joe. He was in my childhood a lot and I remember walking along holding hands with him. He's with my Dad now. I so wish I could be with everyone to say good bye. My thoughts will be with all of you.

Linda and Family,
Joe enlightened us with his wisdom. It was an honor to know him. He was our mentor and role model. He was kind-hearted, energetic and so patient with kids. We will always remember his love and affection. Our love and support will always be there for you.
