John Field Obituary

John David Field
November 3, 1955 - March 6, 2015
Resident of San Jose
John David Field, 59, of San Jose California passed away at his home on March 6, 2015. Known as Dave to his close friends and family, he was born on November 3rd, 1955 in Laramie, Wyoming to Marilyn and John H. Field. The Field family moved to Willow Glen in 1960, where Dave lived for the remainder of his life.
He graduated from Willow Glen High School in 1973, where he met Debra Field (Palestro). They were married after high school and remained so for 38 years. He worked in the tech industry in Silicon Valley for over 35 years as a PCB Layout Engineer. Dave was the proud father of three children. He never missed a soccer game or dance recital. He was mechanically gifted, and could often be found on the weekends working in his garage fixing anything from a broken toy to rebuilding a car engine. He loved his dogs, sailing, skiing, reading, and barbequing with family and friends.
He was a devoted father and grandfather. He was blessed with two daughters Sarah (Jeff) and Rachel (Chris) and his son, John E. Field. Dave was the proud grandfather of AJ, Emma, and Aubriana and was excited for the family's newest pending arrival. He is survived by his younger brothers Tom and Tim Field as well as his numerous nieces and nephews.
Dave will always be remembered for his enduring friendships, positive demeanor, courage during difficult times, his patience, friendly smile, and encouraging words to everyone he met.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass Friday, March 20th, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Christopher's Church, 1576 Curtner Avenue, San Jose. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Humane Society Silicon Valley or a charitable organization of your choice.

Debbie and Family~
We have two ways of remembering people who leave us and start another journey. We either cry over their absence, or smile and remember them through the countless memories that have stayed back. I'm sure Dave wants you to smile forever. he's watching you now. Stay strong.

To my sister and my nieces and nephew,
I'm so sorry for your loss and pain. Dave was so much a part of my life I met him when I was 5 years old, he was the only one in the family that was patient enough to help me with my homework and the only one who would teach me to drive. I loved him as my brother and have learned so much from him I was lucky he was apart of this family.
Love your sister and your Aunty Sandra
