Julius Rocca Obituary

Julius Donald "Rocky" Rocca Born in San Martin, California, "Rocky" passed into rest on March 24, 2008 at age 80. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Elenore. He is survived by his sons Michael (Renee), Daniel (Tammy), Thomas, and Paul; his grandchildren Aaron, Justin, Charmaine, and Julia; nephew Rob Cuffia; niece Loritta Johnson and her family, Kim, Kirke (Johanne), Lance, and Kirkey La Shelle, and Natazia Stolberg; cousin Elsa Audisio and her sons Joseph and Carlo; extended family Ilda Rossi and June Legge; and lifelong friends, the Pedrizzetti, Greig, Bonino, Lauesen, Faulconer, and Henrichsen families. Rocky devoted his life to the business of selling groceries and making friends. His tireless attention to Rocca's Market in San Martin for over 50 years has secured his place in San Martin history. Always ready with a "hello" and a quip, Rocky balanced his public and private life with ease, joy, and a sigh. He spent his Army service in Korea and then went on to graduate from San Jose State University. Rocky played his share of golf and traveled the world with his wife Elenore, with whom he raised and guided their four boys. Rocky was very proud of his family, his family business, and his town. Funeral Services will be held at St. Catherine Church in Morgan Hill, California, on Tuesday, April 1, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery immediately following the services. Public viewing will be held at Habing Funeral Home, Gilroy, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 31.
