Paul Bazley Obituary

Paul Robert Bazley Oct. 9, 1961 - March 2, 2008 Paul passed away unexpectedly at age 46, on March 2rd. He was a loving husband, extraordinary father, son, brother, an admired colleague and trusted friend. Paul was born on October 9, 1961 in San Mateo, California to Karen Halvorsen Bazley, of Sparks, Nevada and John Bernard Bazley of Pacific Grove, California. Paul was a proud graduate of The American School of The Hague, the Netherlands and of Stanford University, Palo Alto, California. Paul graduated with a B.A. in Economics, Phi Beta Kappa Class of '83. In 1983 Paul began his career as a Systems Engineer at IBM in Anchorage, Alaska, an experience that shaped the rest of his life. In 1994 Paul came to Microsoft in Redmond, Washington as the head of the Microsoft Solution Provider program. Paul was next promoted to Vice President US Enterprise and Partner Sales. After a fulfilling experience with Microsoft, Paul took some time off to be with his girls before accepting the position of Managing Director, US Client Group at Russell Investments in Tacoma, Washington. Paul's favorite activities were spending time with his family, sailing aboard his sailboat, Santa Clara, photography, world travel and exploration, playing guitar, hiking, biking and camping. Paul is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth, precious daughters Claire and Lauren, and best buddy, 'Ace'. Paul leaves behind his mother, Karen Bazley, father, Jack Bazley, sister Marsha Bazley of Amherst, Massachusetts and his step-mother Catherine Bazley. He was preceded in death by his younger sister, Karen Frances Bazley. A Celebration of Life will take place Tuesday, March 11th at the Pickering Barn in Issaquah, Washington. Please refer to www.flintofts.com for details and directions. At a later date his remains will be scattered in the waters of Puget Sound. The family has requested donations be made to the American Heart Association, in lieu of flowers.

My sincere sympathy goes out to you and your family. I worked for Paul at Microsoft for close to two years in Redmond and learned more in two years than in any other years.
