Robert Booton Obituary

Robert Wright Booton, Jr.
April 4, 1957 – February 25, 2018
Resident of Foster City, California
Bob Booton was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico on April 4th, 1957 to Robert Wright Booton Sr. and Mary Ellen Johnson Booton. He grew up in El Paso, Texas, graduating from Burgess High School in 1975. He graduated in 1980 from Texas Tech University with a BBA in Management. He met Tamsen Duke in El Paso, Texas, in 1983. They were married in St. Helena, California in 1989 and settled in Foster City.
Bob was a Director of Global Commodity Management for Amazon for the last seven years. Bob spent his entire career developing and managing supply chains for companies in the tech industry, including Texas Instruments, Sun MicroSystems, Compaq as well as his own companies, MarketFusion and the The Booton Group.
Bob loved to travel and to go to musical events with Tamsen. Many trips were planned around Phantom of the Opera performances and Rolling Stones concerts. Golf was his passion. He enjoyed playing in Scotland and Ireland and the Monterey Peninsula. He was a dedicated "dad" to his incorrigible Westies – Sodapop, Bongo, Soda Monica and Scotch. He was a lifelong Texas Tech Red Raider fan. He especially loved his nieces Sarah and Grace and taking them on adventures in Hawaii.
Bob had a way of making everyone around him feel included and at ease. He had a quick wit and was always looking to share a laugh, even at his own expense. He was an extraordinary friend, and extraordinarily generous.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wright Booton, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Tamsen Duke, mother, Mary Ellen Terry, sister, Linda Reese and her husband Tracy Stansberry, and many loving family members.
Visitation will be at 2 pm followed by the funeral at 3 pm on Monday, March 5th at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held later this month on the Peninsula.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in his memory to Pets In Need, 871 Fifth Avenue, Redwood City, CA, 94063; Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth, 1001 8th Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104 or a favorite charity.

I am only just learning of his passing. Bobby was my good friend in high school and roommate at Texas Tech. I am deeply saddened by this news and very sorry for the loss that his family has suffered. Rest In Peace sir.

Bob was a true friend and colleague. He had a great sense of humor. He will be sorely missed. I am in shock.

No!! Bob was one of a kind; I really enjoyed his company, his cynical wit and humor, his knowledge and his kindness. He passed away far too young - this is tragic.
