In Memory of
Robert "Bob" Olages Gonzales
Robert "Bob" Gonzales died in San Jose on Sat. Nov. 7, 2020 at age 95. He is survived by his wife Hortencia Gonzales, daughters Rosemarie (Eric) and Nancy, sons Bob and Mark (Nanci), sister Linda, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Born to Pedro "Pete" B. and Rosa Olague on Aug. 24, 1925, in Los Angeles, he grew up in Southern California and the Central Valley. Served as Sergeant in U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943-46, stationed in South Pacific. Worked for more than 40 years in the Westinghouse Marine Division in Sunnyvale. Resident of Santa Clara since 1955. Proud member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Wilcox High School Dads and Grads Club. Devout volunteer of VFW Honor Guard and participant of ceremonies honoring veterans and the United States of America. American Legion Department of California 2013-14 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. Served as coach, manager and official for Briarwood Little League and Santa Clara Pony and Colt leagues. Loved watching his San Francisco Giants and San Francisco 49ers. Private burial.
