Robert Mantia Obituary
April 18, 1932 - September 4, 2021
Resident of San Jose
Robert Joseph Mantia passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021. Robert was born in Homestead, Pennsylvania on April 18, 1932 to Joseph and Margaret Mantia. He graduated from Munhall High School in 1950. After High school, Robert served as an Army Military Police Officer in Germany during the Korean War. Following the war, Robert received his Bachelor's Degree from University of Pittsburg in PA and Master's Degree from San Jose State University in CA.
He was a teacher, vice principal and coach throughout his fifty-years in education. He was the greatest husband, father, grandfather and mentor to so many and will be missed immensely. His absolute happiest moments in life were spent with his family and coaching school and organized youth sports (baseball, basketball, football and softball) teams to multiple championships.
Robert is survived by his wife; Lillian Mantia, children; Robert Mantia and Holly Mantia, grandchildren; Jennifer Mantia, Jaclyn Foust, Nicholle Mantia and Jacob Grubinskas, and brother; Thomas Mantia.
Public service will be held this Friday, September 17 at 11am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Los Gatos, CA
