At the age of 25, Dr. Seipel performed surgery on me for complications of ulcerative colitis. I had been under his care for two years and my surgery was to take 3 hours. Seven hours later, I was sewed up and Dr. Seipel told my parents my colon was so destroyed that it came out in shreds. He had the choice of sewing me up and sending me home to die or try to save me. He chose the latter. Here I am 53 years later alive and well. I went on to teach in the public school system for 34 years and was always thankful of Dr. Seipel's skill in saving me. He was a great surgeon and an amazing man.

I worked with Dr Seipel in his private practice on Samaritan Dr for five years. As a medical assistant in a one person office along with his partner Dr Knoernschild these were the best years of my working career. I often think about him and how kind and gentle he was, I learned so much working for him. He is a good friend and he was a fine surgeon. I loved those five years I spent there in his practice. I miss him so much. I would like to give my condolences to his family, he was a wonderful person, employer and most of all friend.

Our heartfelt sympathy to Joan and the Seipel family
for your loss. May you find comfort in family and friends
and in the precious memories you share. What we miss
most about doctor Seipel was his caring manner. He was
not only a wonderful man but a truly great surgeon. It was
in the late 1960's when one of his colleagues told us that
" When GOD gave hands to a surgeon he gave them to
Doctor Robert Seipel".Doctor Seipel will be missed by
everyone who knew him. May he rest in peace.
