Stanley Nascimento Obituary

It is with great sadness that our beloved Stanley Eugene Nascimento entered into Eternal Rest on March 25, 2023, at the age of 81. Stan was born on January 15, 1942, to Tony and Evelyn Nascimento of Santa Clara, CA. In 1959 he graduated from Live Oak High School, Morgan Hill, and went on to obtain a Journalism degree from San Jose State University. He worked for the Wall Street Journal for 25 years and then with the Fraboni family for 20 years. In 1967 Stan married the love of his life, Maria Simas Rosa. Their tightly-knit families were both from the Azores, Portugal. They were married for 55 years and were blessed with three children: Monica, Kirk, and Marysa; and three grandchildren: Emma, Joshua, and Talia. Stan was involved with many community organizations, including the Auxiliary of the Dominican sisters of Mission San Jose, and served as Chairman of the Residents' Council of Sunrise Villa/Ivy Park Salinas for the past four years. He loved spending time with both immediate and extended family, showing off his green thumb, cuddling with his pets, all things Barbra Streisand, and loved his community of friends at Ivy Park Salinas.Stan was predeceased by his parents Tony and Evelyn Nascimento; and brother and sister-in-law Duane and Eva Nascimento. He is survived by his loving wife Maria Nascimento; sister Joan Kissee; his children and grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. A Memorial Mass honoring his life and spirit will be held at Five Wounds Portuguese Church, 1375 E. Santa Clara St., San Jose, on Friday, May 19th at 11 am.
