Dear Louise,
Madelyn and I were so saddened to hear yesterday of Jim's passing. When we would meet at '49ers events he would always have a smile and a kind word. We will miss him, and ask that our class memorial mass on Thursday will be dedicated to an outstanding GOLDEN EAGLE; God Bless All your family.

Jim's compassion was only matched by Helen's. May we all have a fraction as much.

Dear Louise,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and with Jimmy, David, and Matt. Jim was a truly good man, and my strongest memory of him is as a father and husband whose life centered on his family; I would get an update on the boys every time he came into the office. I know also how deep his faith was, and I hope that will help to support all of you in the days ahead. I first met Jim over fifty years ago when I was a medical student rotating through the OB-GYN service at Boston City Hospital and was mentored by him. I was later proud to be a colleague and a friend.
