Lucia Saraceno Obituary

Lucia Saraceno
Lucia "Lucy" (Pisa) Saraceno passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, following a brief illness. She was born on June 28, 1935, in Melilli, Sicily, to Maria and Giuseppe Pisa.
Lucy emigrated from Sicily in the mid-1950s, with her family, to Connecticut, eventually becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen. In 1960, she married Antonio S. Saraceno in Melilli, and they settled in Middletown, CT. Lucy was a maker and applied her skills professionally, as a seamstress, for many years and eventually an electronics assembler, where she worked for Raymond Engineering (Kaman Corp.). She enjoyed growing flowers and maintained a vegetable garden with her husband. Besides gardening, Lucy was a skillful baker, producing breads and other Sicilian baked specialties for her family.
Lucy was predeceased by her husband of nearly 59 years, Antonio (also from Melilli).
She is survived by two children, Reginaldo and Felicia, five grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, Christine, Jamie, and Thomas, and two great-grandchildren, Rhozaria and Aria - with one more on the way, Stella.
Following the death of Antonio, Lucy welcomed her sister, Rosetta, as a housemate. Rosetta was the best companion, sometimes caregiver, superb cook, and always ready with humor to lift Lucy's spirits, and all this surely enriched her life and health. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the numerous doctors, nurses, and caregivers for their exceptional care, compassion and support during Lucy's illness, with special thanks to Mari G. and Zima H.
Family and friends are welcome to gather for visiting hours on Monday, June 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main St., Middletown, CT. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 24, at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian's Church, 155 Washington Street, Middletown.

Lucy was a wonderful person. I enjoyed helping and spending time with her. She loved her family & her gardening. I will always treasure the daisies that she gave me with specific instructions on how to care for them. She will be missed.
May she be at peace.

Dear Felicia and Family,
I was sorry to read of Mrs. Saraceno's passing. She was always one of my favorite patients at the dental office (always loved her fashionable wallet-lol). She had a joy of life that radiated the minute that she walked into the office. I know that she will be missed by many.
