Robert Cannata Obituary
Robert Sebastian Cannata (Bob) of Middletown, son of the late Mildred (Raynor) Cannata and Sebastian Cannata, passed away unexpectedly on January, 9, 2022. He is survived by his sister, Carol Van Lieu, of Charlotte, North Carolina and his nephew, Michael Van Lieu, of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Middletown and attended Middletown schools. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force where he proudly served our country. After being discharged from the military, he was employed as a mail carrier for the Middletown Postal Service for 25 years. Bob was an avid golfer who belonged to Lyman Orchards Golf Club for many years. Bob was also a member of the Middletown Elks Club.
Those who know Bob will remember him for his kindness, simplicity and his endless smile. He had a special love for his volunteer work at Masonicare of Wallingford and for his love of animals. One of Bob's best friends was his dog Scooby. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
A memorial mass service will be held on Saturday, January 22 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 51 Freestone Avenue, Portland. Burial will be held at a later date.
Those who wish to make donations may do so to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA.)

Hi Mr Bob I just want to say I miss you you were my best friend we did everything together we didn't get to celebrate our birthday together she passed away don't forget and February 3rd and you're the 7th he was supposed to get together on the 5th right just want he used to know you're missed and you will never be forgotten I talk to you all the time my heart aches but just do me a favor and rocked Evans spread your wings and fly Mr Bob here with your mommy and daddy now in my kids that I lost and family members and you were my family miss you always and forever your bestie and to Carol I'm sorry I lost your brother into your son I'm sorry you lost your uncle my condolences

Bob will be greatly missed by so many. One of the nicest guys anyone could meet.
I will miss his huge smile and all our fun at Linda's ( VHS) spring and Christmas parties.
Sorry we never got the chance to go line-dancing Bob but I will think of you when we do.

Bob was a kind and compassionate man. He was always available to help out my husband's parents next door and he was very dedicated to his volunteer work at Masonicare, he was a special part of the VHS community and will be missed greatly. I will miss Bob dearly. The 5 yrs I´ve known him, wasn´t enough. He was always kind and funny. Made my day at work a whole lot more fun. He was such a help and never ever complained. I pray for all his family and friends. He will be missed!

Most golf course greenskeepers would say their days begin with the sunrise. At Lyman Orchards, our days began with a smile or a kind word from Bob. Rain or shine, my daily chats with Bob always started the day off right. He was a good man and a kind soul. He will be missed by all at Lyman. Keep it in the fairway Bob!
