Robert J Inferrera Sr.

Robert J. Inferrera Sr., 79 years old, passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side on August 3, 2022. Son of the late Thomas Inferrera Sr. and the late Ann (Tringali) Inferrera. Robert, known to all of his friends as Bob, was born and raised in Middletown, CT. Robert leaves his wife, Joy Inferrera. He was predeceased by his first wife, Joanne, with whom they had 2 children. Robert leaves his brother, Thomas Inferrera Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Georgia. Robert also leaves his son, Robert J Inferrera Jr. of CT; his daughter, Jennifer Mohanti and her husband, Rajat, of California. His 2 grandsons, Daniel and Nicholas; his granddaughter, Jaelyn; and his very special son-in-law, Darin Kateches. Robert also leaves his stepchildren, Lisa Carta and Ronald Carta; and many nieces. After joining the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 in 1960, Robert was assigned to A Company, 3rd Recon Battalion. He became the company scout swimmer. While serving his country, Robert met Grandmaster Eizo Shimabukuro, in Okinawa, a true living legend of martial arts and was instantly drawn to the master and his Shobayashi Shorin Ryu Karate. Robert became a grandmaster in Shobayashi-Shorin-Ryu Karate in 1999. Robert was inducted into The Middletown 2016 Sports Hall of Fame. Robert owned his own construction company for many years. He built many homes and businesses in and around Middletown, CT. Robert's family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and techs at Middlesex Hospital Hospice unit for their care and compassion. D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main St., Middletown, CT, is in charge of the arrangements. There are no calling hours. Robert will be buried with Full Military Honors at the State Veteran's Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT, on September 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
