The family of Lisa Ann Ramsey is saddened to announce her passing on May 2, 2025, at the age of 64.
Lisa was a lifelong resident of Fort Madison. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Mae Ramsey (née Heidbreder); her father, Donald Lee Ramsey; and her sisters, Rebecca Gilpin (née Ramsey) and Beverley Martin (née Ramsey).
She is survived by her three nieces, Courtney McQuillan (née Martin), Brooke Oliver (née Martin), and Emily Martin, all of St. Louis, Mo.; her two nephews, Donald Gilpin of Quincy, Ill., and Randall Gilpin of Dallas City, Ill.; and her great-nephew, Jackson Oliver of St. Louis.
Lisa dedicated 46 years of her career to Great River Medical Center, retiring in 2024. During her time there, she forged enduring friendships with colleagues who became her chosen family.
Lisa also cherished her numerous cousins, considering many of them among her closest friends. She delighted in spending time with them, whether it was competing in a dart league, enjoying a trip to Las Vegas, or attending the annual family reunion.
Much like the rest of her family, Lisa was an avid sports enthusiast. She loved watching baseball, basketball, and football, and was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan.
However, one of her most cherished pastimes was visiting with her nieces and nephews, especially her "Peanut," Jackson. Lisa loved fiercely and embraced every moment of life. She touched many lives and made the world brighter simply by being in it. She will be missed more than words can convey.
A celebration of Lisa's life will be held at the Eagles Club in Fort Madison on June 28 at 11:30 a.m.
