1957 ~ 2025
Gaylord Rick Martin (Ricky), was born November 28, 1957, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and passed away March 6, 2025, at his home in Moab Utah.
Rick is preceded in death by his grandparents, as well as some beloved aunts and uncles. He leaves behind his loving parents Guy and Pat Martin, his siblings Earl Martin, Randy and Lea Martin, Marcie and Jody Shumway and nieces and nephews galore. He couldn't have been closer to some of his extended family, and of course, his multitude of friends.
Rick received his A-1 Engineering License which helped him while he was working for various companies in the area. He mined, did construction work, and even hauled dynamite for Dyno-Nobel.
Although he explored other areas for short periods of time, he never found any place he loved more than Moab.
Rick was an avid hunter. He lived for any hunting season where he could spend his time with friends and family on the mountain. He especially loved to just hang out and make memories with them.
The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers as well as the lifetime of love and support that has been given to them and to Rick.
A Celebration of Life will be held April 26, 2025, at Browns Hole, (weather permitting) more details to follow.

I worked with Rick back in the early 2000s at Dyno Nobel. Rick was always the kind of guy that you could count on, both at work, and off. Rick was always smiling and had a good attitude. He was a good friend and will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.
