REV. ALLEN HULL JR. NOV. 27, 1927 - NOV. 20, 2006 Rev. Allen Hull Jr., former Pastor at Hughson First Baptist Church (1959-1962) went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2006, at the age of 78. Allen was born to Allen Sr. and Ophelia Hull in Junction, Texas on November 27, 1927. He lived in San Antonio, Texas graduating from Edison High School in 1944. He attended Texas A&M University before joining the United States Army where he served two years attaining the rank of Tech Sergeant. It was while he was serving at Camp Stoneman, CA that he met and later married Bette L. Dunlap in 1947.
After WWII he attended Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary receiving his Bachelor and Masters degrees over the years. As an ordained American Baptist Minister he served at Park Presidio Baptist Church, San Francisco, CA where he was the founding Pastor; First Baptist Church, Hughson, CA; Immanuel Baptist Church, Tacoma, WA; Chehalis First Baptist, Chehalis, WA; First Baptist Church, Payette, ID and First Baptist Church, Elma, WA. He retired in 1992 but continued to serve the Lord filling the pulpits in Centralia, WA and Ryderwood, WA.
Besides serving as Pastor to many people Allen simply loved life. He was an avid Pinochle and 48 Domino player. He loved to fish even when he caught nothing or spent the whole day baiting hooks for his family. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous friends. He served as a Law Enforcement Chaplain in Elma, Grays Harbor County, Chehalis, Centralia and Lewis County Washington for the city police, Sheriff, State Patrol and County Fire. He was always there for the officers and families no matter what the time of day or night. Only poor health slowed him down in his later years.
He was a founding member of the Lewis County Food Bank, the Chehalis Girl's Softball association and the Lewis County Washington Ministerial Association. He was a member and officer with the Kiwanis in each of the cities where he lived. He also served as a volunteer at the Veteran's Memorial Museum in Chehalis.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Bette (Dunlap) Hull, Chehalis; his Sister Mary Leigh (Hull) Morrow of San Antonio, Texas; his children, Linda (Hull) Becker, Winlock; Laurie Hull, Winlock; and Colonel Allen Hull III, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; four Grandchildren, and three Great grandchildren.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents Allen Hull, Sr. and Ophelia Hull.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 28 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Assembly of God, I-5 Exit 72, Kirkland Rd. Chehalis, WA.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lewis County Veterans Memorial Museum, 100 Veterans Way SW, Chehalis, WA 98532.

To the Hull family,
My memories of your dad were of him coaching the girl's softball team. He taught me more about life than he did about softball. He was a positive influence on my life. He was a good man. I'm sorry for your loss.
