For all who continue to mourn the loss of Halie J's husband, Rust Epique, the Lopez's family son, brother, cousin and friend, I know Rust is watching all from above. I know he is playing his music for all to hear above. Halie J's grandmother passed one day later, but has been able to meet and hear Rust's music. Listen with your hearts. Continued prayers and love to all, especially my daughter, Halie J, who should also be thought of daily for she misses Rust unbelievably...treasures the memories they shared, and will always.

Dave, Adela, Nick, and Monica:
I know it has been a year, but I hadn't been in touch with Charlie for a while, and I just found out about his passing away last week. I can't yet quite come to terms with it. Rust influenced and inspired my life, and my son Ian's life so very much. Rust was 25 when we met, and Ian was 11. Rust took Ian under his wing, and taught him some good stuff. Ian is now 22, and he is a photographer. It was Rust who gave him his first video camera, and his first guitar, for that matter. He was such a huge part of both of our lives. Yes, Rust could be wild, but he opened my eyes to a wonderful and vibrant world. Rust left his mark on things, as well as people, and, to this day, I will open a drawer, or a book, or even my sewing kit (yes, he tagged my sewing kit!)and he is there. I am now a substance abuse counselor and therapist, and I work in Hollywood, not far from the places Rust and I had lived. I always thought that maybe I would see him driving along or something. Now I know he'll always be there. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Charlie is in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry.

Mr & Mrs Lopez,
I wish you and your family well and my prayers are with you.
Rust was an excepional person in so many ways and you should be proud of the boy you raised and the man he had become.
Rust and I became friends about 12 years ago in Los Angeles. I had a business on Sunset Blvd. After hours he would often use the office to practice with his band, this was way before Crazy Town.
I'm not a musician and not in the music business.
Even though we are two diffrent types of people, somehow me and this guy connected and remained good friends over the years.
People should know that even though there has been so much written about Rust's musical talents and acomplishments,he also had many other great traits.
I could write for days about what a great person he was,and the joy he brought to everyone.
He had an excellent sense of humor and a lot of presence, just hanging out with him and watching football was a blast.
He would think nothing of it to help someone ....even if he didn't really know them that well.
He was so much more than a fantastic musician, he was a very caring person, with a soft side.
His early death has left a impact on me like I've never felt before.
I will never forget him and feel blessed to have known him for the time that I did.

Rust and I became friends about 12years ago in Los Angeles.I have no musicial talents what so ever and never aspired to.Some how me and this guy connected I"m from the east coast and he from the west coast. There has been so much written about him and him musical talent(and talented he was) but I thought people should know even though music was his life;he had many other admiral traits. He had an excellent sense of humor and would always help you out if you needed help(even though he tried not to let you see this side of him) He was so much more than a fantastic musician.I just wanted to let people know this about him. His early death has left a impact on me like I never felt before. I have this felling that as time goes on I will only miss him more.I know i will never forget him as long as I live.

Mr. and Mrs. Lopez,
I haven't seen Charlie since we were kids. I always liked and respected your son both on and off the soccer field. He was a fine athlete, fierce competitor, and loyal team mate (no doubt he used these qualities to become successful in the music biz). He was always fun to be around and had a great sense of humor. Please accept my sincerest sympathies.

Rust was so full of life. I knew him in LA in the early 90s before he hit it big with Crazytown. I'm shocked and saddened by his death. Solace to all his family...

Adella and Dave, Nick and Monica. I was so sad to hear of Charlie's sudden passing. May God keep you close through this difficult time. Adella and Dave you are so very special to all of Elva's children. I will never forget our good times we shared together as children, growing up. Charlie had such a magnetic smile and once gave me some encouraging words while I was growing up and stuggling in my youth. He will forever be remembered. May God Bless those of you he left here to fulfill his dreams. I love you guys.
