Dan Klinger Obituary
Jan. 15, 1922 - Oct. 31, 2016
Dan Klingler passed away October 31st at the age of 94. Born in San Francisco in 1922 Dan moved to Denair in 1934 with his mother and stepfather, then to Turlock in 1936. Graduating from Turlock High School, he attended Modesto Community College, Merced Community College and Chapman College at Castle Air Force Base where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy.
A veteran, Dan retired as a Commander in the United States Navy after serving 36 years. Dan flew fighter planes off aircraft carriers, specifically the USS Shangri-La during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Klingler was a stockbroker at Beckman & Company in Turlock for many years.
Dan is survived by his five daughters Kathy Smith, Lynn Klingler, Kim Hirte, Christy Klingler Derungs, Mary Klingler and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dan Klingler's memorial service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Tuesday November 15th, 2016 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans by mail payable to: DAV-Disabled American Veterans P.O. Box 14301 Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301 or on-line at https://www.dav.org

We began our relationship with Dan as a client and became friends over the many years he was in Turlock. He was a true gentleman and a true believer. When we visited his place of business he would on occasion be reading his bible. He talked often of his "beautiful" daughters. Please accept my condolences for your lose of a loving father and my lose of a friend. God bless you Dan and you suffer no more.
