July 20, 2013
Ervin A Benson, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2013.  He was born in Carson, ND on April 15, 1936.  His family moved to Modesto, CA when Ervin was young.  He attended local schools and graduated from Modesto High in 1955.  It was there where he met his wife of over 50 years, Dennis McGrath.  They were married while Ervin was in the Marine Corps. He and Dennis moved to Crescent City in 1965, where Ervin worked for Crescent Moving and Storage and later delivering Foremost milk.  In 1977, he began working for Vita Sea, a fish processing plant, until 1988 when the plant shut down.
Ervin loved airplanes and Fords. To him, Ford was the only company that made cars and trucks.  He had good friends, but none like Dick Roberts, Roger Long and especially Don Long
Ervin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Brian & Laura Benson.  Granddaughters Blair & Sydney Benson.   Ervin was preceded in death by his wife Dennis.
