Fern Williams Obituary

Turlock, California - Fern Martha Williams, 98, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, in Turlock, California.
Born on December 25, 1926, Fern grew up in California and graduated from Modesto High School before continuing her education at Modesto Junior College. Her life was marked by a deep love for family, nature, and animalsa passion that guided her throughout the years.
Fern was a devoted wife to her late husband Claude "Bud" Williams and a loving mother to her three children. She is survived by her daughters Cathryn Williams and Christine Ellerd. She was predeceased by her son Claude "Kip" Williams. Fern also leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Her compassion extended beyond her family to the animal world. Fern dedicated many years volunteering with SPCA animal outreach and the Stanislaus Wildlife Care Center. Her commitment to animal welfare reflected the kindness she carried in every aspect of her life. Whether walking along Dry Creek Trail with her beloved dog Lily or tending to her yard, Fern found joy in the simple beauty of the outdoors.
A memorial service celebrating Fern's life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at 2065 Castleview Dr., Turlock, CA 95382.
In honor of Fern's lifelong dedication to animals, donations may be made to the Stanislaus Wildlife Care Center located in Fox Grove Park, Hughson, CA.
Fern's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her legacy of kindness and care continue to inspire all who were touched by her presence.

Fern was a fellow Dry Creek Trail dog walker to me.
Fern was an inspiration as to how not to get old; just keep walking with your new dog Lily (after wonderful Bailey).
Very independent lady, and very fit.
I do and will continue to think of Fern and Lily and Bailey when I am walking my beloved dogs along Dry Creek.
