Grace Henderson Obituary

Grace Henderson

January 8, 1958 - May 18, 2024

Manteca, California - Grace Frances Henderson, born Grace Frances Kung, lived from January 8, 1958 to May 18, 2024. She was the high school sweetheart and wife of Steve Henderson, the mother of Nate and Chad Henderson, the mother-in-law of Kelsey and Yvette Henderson, and the grammie of Seylah, Keaton, and Daphne Henderson. In addition, she was a successful businessperson employed as a financial advisor with PNC Bank, the chief designer of a home fit for the cover page of Better Homes and Gardens, the head organizer of a myriad of family and community events, an amazing chef, and a devoted Christian lady who was ready to be received to her heavenly home.

Growing up as a military child, Grace resided in Hawai'i, Panama, Germany, Arizona, and Washington state before moving to California. There, she fell in love with a boy who threw rocks at her upstairs window to ask her out and brought ice cream to make her smile. The pair invested a seemingly endless amount of energy into creating a life together of which they could be proud.

This included doting on a pair of rough and tumble boys who learned slowly, though profoundly, what it means to be hard-working and honorable men as they observed their parents' consistent examples. Grace herself was a paragon of hard work who ventured daily to make the world around her more organized and more beautiful.

After the birth of her two sons, Grace embarked on a career in banking where she worked her way up from teller to manager to financial advisor. She took pride in helping others take strategic steps to invest in their future. Her free time went to seasons of service as a head deaconess, a member of Rotary International, a host for church small groups, and participation in church choirs.

Grace Henderson was the kind of person who made the world better than she found it, who offered sound advice, who people named their children after, and who chose optimism amid struggle. She was noble, kind, determined, charitable, beautiful, trustworthy, considerate, intelligent, and aptly named "Grace." She will be remembered fondly by those who were blessed to know her.

Memorial service will be held at Crosspoint Community Church, located 1301 12th Street, Modesto CA. on June 29 at 11 am.

I met Grace at BbVA. She was my dad's financial advisor and then became mine. We would meet and pray. I will definitely miss her.

I met Grace at BBVA as a customer. I was recently divorced with 2 small boys. She took me under her wing. Gave me sound advice on investing to make sure my children could go to college comfortably. And that I could have savings too for my future.
As always a cheerful smile and hugs greeted me. A lady full of class and elegance....
I will truly miss her....

I heard often about Grace from my husband Reed who was her customer. We are both thinking of her family and friends. He mentioned the family photos displayed with love in her office. M. Countryman

We worked with Grace and appreciated her wisdom and input for over 16 years dealing with various financial scenarios. She was a intelligent, forward thinking woman who knew her venues and looked forward to sharing them with you.
She will be missed.
