Steve & Fran and family: While we didn't know your Dad, we do know he raised a kind, caring son in Steve. We hope the warm memories of Hank will comfort all of your family and bring more smiles than tears.

I wish to extend my personal and deepest sympathy to my friend Steve and the entire family and friends of Hank. As a veteran and son of a veteran of WWII I am respectfull and thankfull for his commitment to the defense and security of this great country. Its men like Hank who gave selflessly that we enjoy the many freedoms we have. After all he went through, then to come back and be such a driving force in his community and in the developement of his family, I am disadvantaged for not having had the opportuity of knowing him personally.
Steve DeJong and the entire family are in my prayers.

I will turn home at last once more
Knowing that a true soldier's rest
Once earned is sweet
His peace complete
Who gave until the last his best

The obituary is such a fitting account of Uncle Hank's legacy. Rich and I and our children remember the hospitality we enjoyed in Ripon when we visited in 1978, and thank God for Uncle Hank and Aunt Ruth's interest in, prayers for and support of Christians for Prisoners, the ministry founded by our oldest son, Troy. May God smile on the family through this next week. Love, Carol
