What a wonderful man and role model. He always encouraged me in my career and at church. He always had a kind word and his smile lit up the room. He will be missed.

Walter, Gayle and John - growing up a part of the Allard family was such a priviledge - I was included in so many outtings. Saturday morning waffles, chats around the kitchen table, cutting down Christmas trees in Oakdale, and the delight your mom and dad always expressed when I came by - even after I left Turlock. Wonderful memories of a wonderful family, and a deep regard for John's faith and servant's approach. He is a legacy all of his own. Many deep regards, and prayers for your family as you miss him (and your mom).

Walt, Gail and John it's been a long since we grew up as neighbors, My prayers are with you. There was always something about your Dad, not that he was always nice and had a great smile. Even though he was an adult I always felt respect when he talked to me, at the time I didn't know what that was but now years later I understand how special that was and what an example he was to so many people.
God Bless.

Where do I start? Mr. Allard and Mrs. Allard were our neighbors pretty much my whole life... my parents still live next door... I remember going over to there house and selling my goods for fundraisers when I was a kid... they bought from all of us kids on the block,I am certain there house was full of chocolates and tupperware.I remember Mr. and Mrs. Allard bringing us yummy goodies at Christmas that Mrs. Allard made... I remember going over to his house and hanging out listening to him tell me war stories.. I remember him crying when he told me about the letter that got sent home to his mom that he had died in war, an obvious mistake, but his heart broke to remember how much that hurt his mom... He spoke about his mom with such love.. I remember him telling me all the fun things he did growing up in that era.. I loved it.. He was the best story teller... He was a fill in grandpa that lived next door.. quite possibly one of the most selfless, loving men I have ever met.. He sure missed betty, and there love for eachother was for sure an eternal love... The thing that brings joy in the midst of pain, is that He is with betty, He is with Jesus... John heard those words "Well done my good and faithful servant, enter into the JOY of the Lord.." He is in heaven fully restored, his health, his peace, no more being tired, or weary, no more tears, He is in perfection with God. Amen... To say He will be missed by my family is an understatement.

Walt, Gayle and John - I am truly saddened by the passing of your father. As his secretary/assistant while he was county superintendent of schools, I found him to be very encouraging, motivating and a good listener. I have the greatest respect for him. He and your mother were very special people and I have the highest regard for them both.
My love and prayers to you all.

John was a fine Christian gentleman. He was the most practical and reasonable principal that I ever taught with when we were at Julien School. My condolences to his fine family.

Mr Allard was such a kind man. He always remembered that I went to school with Walter since Crowell Elementary. He loved his family and was very proud of them. His smile will be missed.
