Paul Joseph Chingo was born July 4, 1956 in Hollywood, California. The first son, and third child of John and Florence (Maginnis) Chingo. He passed away quietly, in his sleep in Ceres, California on January 26, 2018.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Sarah and his brother John.
Paul, is survived by his beloved wife Mary, his children: Patricia (Jonathan) Bostick, Paul 'Joey' Chingo and Elizabeth (Jonathan) Mullinix; his sisters Susie Chingo and Barbara (John) Baldwin, 7 grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Paul was raised in the southern and central California Coastal towns. He spent his youth swimming at the beach, camping and fishing.
Having a birthday on the 4th of July, Paul grew up believing the neighbor barbeques and fireworks were for his birthday. Everybody loved to celebrate the 4th of July, Paul's birthday. Paul loved reading his morning paper, rock and roll music, going to local carnivals, watching his favorite football team- the San Francisco 49ers, being the winning listener to get through for a radio contest and ringing the Bell every Christmas for the Salvation Army Kettle.
In his younger years, you'd find Paul tinkering with his cars. He spent many hours keeping those cars running, and was always on the lookout in junkyards for parts that he needed, or parts that someone else had told him to put on his search list the next time he went.
In his later years, he still read that daily morning paper, with his coffee and often with a grandbaby by his side.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life for Paul this coming July. Did someone mention barbeque and fireworks? Perhaps it is just our memories.
