I met Paul in Berkeley around ‘95-‘96 and we became close friends soon after we met. We lived really close to each other near highland hospital in Oakland and would hang out almost everyday for years sharing the same interests in music, movies, video games and art. I learned a lot from him and admired his intelligence and wisdom. We would have long conversations about pretty much everything and even in an occasional friendly debate we would end up laughing at whatever it was we talked about always having fun. Over the years I shared so many memorable experiences that even after long periods of no contact we would end up talking and reminiscing on our teenage years with story after story of hilarious events that I’ll forever cherish. His kindness and dedication towards the ones close to him was unmeasurable. A true friend and brother with a gold soul. My sincere condolences goes out to his family and relatives.

I had the privilege of knowing Paul while living in Los Angeles. He was generous, funny, and a person to look up to, as he was literally a very very tall guy! Truth be told he was a friend to me when friends were limited, and I never told him how much crusing in his tiny Toyota Celica, wasting hours playing video games at the local internet cafe or raiding our boss's liquor cabinet at his lake house meant to me. I pray that that Paul's soul is at peace, and my heart goes out to Mayra, Paul's daughters and Paul's entire family and friends.
