William Hackett

1958 - 2025

William (Bill) Anthony Hackett was born to Frank T and Sandra E Hackett on February 27, 1958, in southern California. Bill passed on August 21, 2025, at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco, California. Bill was raised in Ceres, California and graduated from Ceres High School. He married the love of his life Judy Goates and were blessed with a son Chad Hackett. Through the years he coached and supported many of Chad's baseball teams and was his biggest fan. He loved watching Chad starting to coach his own boy's teams. His grandsons were the light in his life, watching them play baseball, basketball and soccer (even though he teased soccer isn't a sport!) To his grandsons he was BAPS, to many others he was Chad's dad. He was very proud of both of these roles. Bill was in multiple Turlock Christmas parades, sitting high in the sleigh on the Santa Firetruck as Santa. He loved seeing the kid's eyes light up along the parade route and would often call out their names. Bill is survived by his wife Judy Hackett, son Chad Hackett (Sarah), sister Kristi Rickman (Steve) brother Tony Hackett (Linda). Mother-in-law Faye Johnson, brother-in-law Alvin Goates, sister-in-law Marilyn Goates and Brenda Goates, grandson's Cru Hackett, Ryker Hackett and Cade Hackett as well as several nephews and nieces. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held Saturday August 30th @ 10:00 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, California.
