December 27, 1939 - December 16, 2020
Modesto, California - William George Schmitz, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the age of 80. He was born in Modesto, December 27, 1939 to Ida and Norman Schmitz. He attended Downey High School and was a proud graduate of Santa Clara University. Upon graduation, Bill settled in Los Gatos where he founded his own company and worked extremely hard for the same organization until his last days. A recognized industry veteran, he was known for his grit, strong relationships and love of hard work. Bill relocated to Modesto in 1982 where he settled for the remainder of his life. He had a great love for nature, was an avid hunter, and enjoyed his family, family of friends, travel and a good book.
Bill is survived by his wife Jeannie Mazzanti Schmitz, Children Jill Price(John), Scott Bond(Anita), Michelle Pedroni( Matt), and Danny Mazzanti, Sister Norma Schmitz and Brother Phil Schmitz(Gail). Sister/brother in law JoAnn Stevano and Marilyn and Ray Avansino. Bill is also survived by his loving grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews. His "Smiling eyes" will be missed greatly along his genuine friendship.
Private Services were held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Linden, Ca. Interment at The San Joaquin Catholic Mausoleum.

Such a beautiful man! We’ve seen those smiling eyes many times ; at our wedding, the baptisms of our babies and countless amazing birthday parties. We treasure the memories and may he rest in eternal peace.
