Arthur Witbart Obituary
Art was a graduate of Chester, IL High School class of '49. He honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 47 years of employment with the N&W Railway Co.
In 1981, he married Carolyn J. Ost at Faith Lutheran Church (now called Holy Faith) in Saline, MI and she survives. Art passed away on March 26, 2020. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by his brother, Delbert, his sister, Wanda and brother-in-law, Gene Kirkland, brother-in-law, Bill Symons and in-laws, Alvin and Helen Ost.
To cherish his memory, Art leaves his beloved wife of 39 years. His sister, Louise (Dick) Runge of Cartersville, IL, Sister-in-law, Joanne Symons of Milan, MI. NIECES: Karen (Jim) Reames of Brownsville, TN, Rhonda (Mike) Kelley of Carbondale, IL and Denese (Jeff) Portman of Maryland Heights, MO. NEPHEWS: Kevin (Stacy) Witbart of Sparta, IL, Rick (Durice) Runge of Murphysboro, IL, Mark (Dorothy) Runge of Austin, TX, Curtis (Kim) Runge of Marion, IL, and Bryce Kirkland of Creve Coeur, MO. GREAT NIECES: Lauren Reames, Sarabeth Witbart, Ashley and Madison Runge, Maggie and Mollie Kelley, and Elizabeth Portman. GREAT NEPHEWS: Aaron Reames, Zack (Jenna) Witbart, Koby, Sean (Lauren) and Nathan Runge, Mikey (Emma) Kelley, Brian Kelley, and David Portman. GREAT GREAT NIECE: Evie Witbart. GREAT GREAT NEPHEW: Axel Witbart.
Art was a member of numerous organizations and clubs through the years. Including; Kiwanis of Milan, American Legion Post 268 of Milan, VFW post 6462 of Dundee, Tri-County Sportsman League, Devils Lake Yacht Club, Milan Beautification Commission, and coordinated the Salvation Army Bell Ringers in Milan.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Holy Faith Church, 6299 Ann Arbor-Saline Rd., Saline, MI 48176. Art was a charter member of this church. Private interment was held at Marble Park Cemetery in Milan. Memorial offerings are suggested for Holy Faith Church.

Art was a wonderful, generous man that we will always remember. He was very active in the church we attended and Kiwanis Club of Mil as n. He was someone we will always cherish as a friend. Our loving thoughts and prayers go out to Carolyn his wife.
