Wayne Ortman Obituary

Wayne A. Ortman, 86, of Temperance, MI, died Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Genesis Heath Care, Sylvania, Ohio.
Born September 19, 1931, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of August and Goldie (Meads) Ortman. A 1949 graduate of DeVilbiss High School, Toledo, he then served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He married Arlene R. Grodi on November 26, 1955. Wayne and his wife owned and operated the former Sunset Acres Campground in Temperance, MI. He also was a store manager for the former Food Town stores in the Toledo area for several years. Wayne loved playing handball and making wine.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Arlene; son, Alan (Kris) Ortman; grandchildren, Alex, Adam, Kurtis and Bailey. Wayne was preceded in death by his son, John; brother, Alvin and sister, Alice Bailey.
A gathering will be held from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where a memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm.
