Catherine Hammock Obituary

HAMMOCK, Mrs. Catherine Nadine Rogers, a resident of Opelika, Alabama, and former longtime resident of Tallassee, Alabama went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the age of 87. She was born on March 11, 1926 in Notasulga, Alabama, the first child of Jessie Felton Rogers and Lucy Vivian Ledbetter Rogers. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Believers Church, 1415 Moores Mill Road, Auburn, AL 36830. Funeral services are Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Believers Church with Senior Pastor Dr. Benny Hand, Sr. and Pastor Dr. Dan Lane officiating. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tallassee. Mrs. Hammock was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1984, James C. Hammock; sons, Clinton Warren Hammock and Larry Wayne Hammock; brother, Frank Rogers; and sister, Helen Lumpkin. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Janice Hammock; eleven grandchildren: Renita Hammock, Warren Hammock, Cathie Hammock Lozada, Charles Hammock, Kristy Picariello, Kalee (Josh) Childree, Kasey (Michael) Murphy, Kyle Hammock, Tasha Hernandez, Ken (Ashley) Hammock, and Scottie (Ally) Hammock; daughter-in-laws, Ann Hammock and Susan Hammock; and sister-in-law, Jeanette Rogers; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, niece, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Charles Hammock, Kyle Hammock, Scottie Hammock, Josh Childree, Michael Murphy, and Richard Hammock. Honorary pallbearers are Ken Hammock and former friends and neighbors of Morningside Assisted Living where she lived from 2005 until 2013.
