Douglas Wiegand Obituary

Douglas Wiegand, 56 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023, at Mercy Regional Medical Center.Douglas was born March 16, 1967 in Elyria and lived his entire life in Amherst and graduated with the class of 1985 from Marion L. Steele High School. He worked as a carpenter for Banco Enterprises and formerly with Yuhasz Builders. Douglas was a really good man, the kind who would do anything for you. Music was an integral part of his life and he played in a band in his spare time. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with family and friends. Often he could be found enjoying the outdoors sitting around the backyard fire pit. Survivors include his siblings, Wade (Karen) Wiegand of South Amherst; Audrey (Gregory) Huber of Amherst; Susan (Frank) Moesher of Wakeman; his nieces and nephews, Keith Huber, Jacquelyn Huber, Megan Cain, Paul Moesher, and John Moesher.He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Janice Wiegand (nee: Hollingsworth).A public memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 5:30 pm at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. The Rev. Larry Nocella, pastor of Camden Baptist Church will officiate. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com.
