It has been a year today that you were laid to rest. Wrote a memorial poem and want to post a couple of pictures.

One year ago today
we all were hurting so
To have to face that awful fact
that you just had to go
And in that year we've hurt and cried and sometimes just sat still
In questioning things God has done
and know it was His will
We say we do not understand
why He had chosen you
But I can know that one day soon
we'll have that answer too.

Tom,
I light this candle in your memory and to wish you a happy 1st Birthday in Heaven. You were in my life longer than my own father was, so I have considered you to be a father figure to me. You made me very happy when we danced at Dennis, Dustin, Boomer's wedding. This was the dance that I never got to have with my father. I want to thank you from afar for making that one of the happiest days of my life. I will always love and remember you. I only have one regret....that you did not get to spend more time here on earth with us. R.I.P. DAD

Dad,
It's hard to believe that a year has gone by already. You are on my mind everyday. Even after a year, it is still hard to fight the tears. You are so deeply missed. The greatest man I ever knew and will ever know. Never forget how much I love you and I will never forget how much you love me. Please continue to watch over the family. We will see one another again someday.

Tom, Time has not lessened the pain of losing you. You were there for me through so much, for 43 years. If I could have kept you here for another 43, I sure would have chosen to do that. I remember so much of our life together, I remember how you gave so much and I may not have let you know how much you were appreciated. Thank you for all of those years, and for loving me always.
