Mark Schiefelbein Obituary
He was born June 13, 1947 in Pittsburg the son of Fred and Minnie(Banke) Schiefelbein.
Nearly 50 years ago on September 26, 1970 he was united in marriage to Mary Sue O'Malley in Weir, KS she survives of the home.
Mark was an accountant for Joe Smith Tobacco for many years.
He was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He was an active volunteer working in the parish office and in the press box for Colgan games for over 40 years. He was a longtime Coach for the J.L Hutchison Little League and an avid fisherman, devoted husband, father and grandfather to eight that never missed a ball game or activity.
Additional survivors include two sons: Gary (Suzanne) Schiefelbein of Joplin, MO, and Eric (Sarah) Schiefelbein of Pittsburg; a daughter Karen (Jim) Simone of Pittsburg; a sister Kay Payne of Overland Park, KS; two brothers: Paul Schiefelbein of Gilbert, AZ and Kurt Schiefelbein of rural Pittsburg along with eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Steve.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 am Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Jerome Spexhearth as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery. Parish rosary will be recited at 6:30pm Monday at the church. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com. Memorials may be left to Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund; these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home. Services by Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Pittsburg.

I was an assistant coach to Frank Crespino during Mark's freshman year. I knew then that he would have a great future and would be a success in whatever career he chose and would be a good family man. So sorry to hear about his death.
