Thomas M. Colwell Jr., 73, of Marseilles, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021, at his home.
Funeral services will be private. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
Thomas was born October 29, 1947, in Joliet, to Thomas M. Sr. and Leona (Franzen) Colwell. In 2002, he married Linda Countryman of Morris who survives.
He was employed by Reichhold Chemicals for 38 years until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Tammy Bouthillier of St. Augustine, FL, Christopher Colwell of Fort Myers, FL, Lori (Raul Archila) Colwell of Romeoville, and Bradley (Toni) Colwell of Braidwood; eight grandchildren, Gabriela (Marco Cortes) Archila, Jordan, Justin, Kylee and Tommy Colwell, Isabela and Ricardo Archila, and Sydney Bouthillier; his sister, Linda (Bill) Ihde of Red Rock, AZ; and one niece, Robyn Ihde.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dear Linda, Tom, and Mr. Basil were the two most respected Plant Managers I ever worked for. Tom was a legend at Reichhold at all levels of the company. Tom would come down to shipping and receiving and visit with us and we all had a good time. Tom knew Reichhold inside out and backward. He was always willing to help anyone, anywhere at any time. Tom never let his stature go to his head, he was always one of the guys and at the same time, he was highly respected by all. I consider myself honored to have had the priviledge to have known him as a friend and a leader, the best that Reichhold Morris has ever had. May God comfort you in your loss. I will never forget him!
