Melvin Shirley Obituary
MORROW - Melvin Eugene Shirley passed away unexpectedly at Grady Memorial Hospital on June 13, 2023.
Melvin was the son of the late Joseph L. and Mildred I. (Firstenberger) Shirley. He was born on the farm in Edison in Morrow County on December 15, 1941.
He grew up driving tractors to help on the farm. He loved his "John Deere's".
Regardless of his disability you never heard him complain. He was born with cerebral palsy but didn't let it stop him from doing what he wanted to do.
Thank you, Uncle Gene, for teaching us all a thing or two about being appreciative of life. Thank you for the laughs and most of all that great big smile that we could always count on. Rest easy big guy. You were sure one of a kind.

This is Traci I took care of Melvin for 5years and I'm sad to hear of his passing, he was such an amazing compassionate and yet onrey man and was always in good spirits, I sure miss the rides on the John Deer Gator to the store and fairgrounds to watch his neice horseracing or the derby lol he taught me alot about life and alot about his condition and it never stopped him from doing what he wanted to do. God bless his family and you will be missed my friend.
