Jeffrey Allen Engle

Jeffrey Allen Engle passed away on July 9th, 2023 at 68. He has been a loyal resident of Skyforest for the past 35 years and a resident of the wider mountain community since he was 20. He worked for the county road department as a heavy equipment operator, taking great pride in keeping our mountain roads safe, helping people, and plowing snow in the winter. In his spare time, he loved customizing his trucks and racing his Capri, camping along the central coast with his family, and creating art and furniture. He had an eclectic taste in music, a strong sense of personal style, an expansive tool collection, and an appreciation for mid-century art and architecture. In his younger days he could be found working in his garage with music blasting, enjoying the sun in his hammock, or chopping wood. He loved his daughters and spent a lot of time playing with them as children and supporting their various interests. Others remember him as a friendly and thoughtful person with a dry sense of humor who was always ready to make you laugh. He is survived by his two daughters, Katy Engle and Jacky Dahlquist.
They will host a memorial for friends and family who wish to celebrate him at Rosalva's Restaurant in Skyforest on October 27th, 2023 from 4-6pm. In lieu of flowers, they would appreciate donations to Rim Family Services: 28545 State Hwy 18, PO Box 578, Skyforest, CA 92385.
