Thomas Badger Obituary

Thomas A. Badger Beloved brother and uncle CANANDAIGUA - Thomas A. Badger, age 77, of Wood Street, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Serenity House in Victor. He is survived by five brothers, Richard (Marlene) Badger of North Tonawanda, N.Y., L. Alan (Mary) Badger of Jordan, N.Y., Frank (Kathleen) Badger of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Neal (Betty) Badger and Martin (Mary) Badger, both of Canandaigua; sister, Maureen (Lawrence) Oberlies of Penfield; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Badger was born in Canandaigua and was the son of Maurice and Kathryn (McGarry) Badger. He was a graduate of St. Mary's School and Canandaigua Academy. Mr. Badger was a U.S. Army veteran. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Canisius College. Mr. Badger worked as a probation officer for several years. He retired from New York State Mental Health Information Agency in Rochester after many years. After his retirement Mr. Badger enjoyed spending his winters in Spain. He was an avid runner and completed 23 marathons. He also enjoyed photography and bowling. Mr. Badger was a member of St. Mary's Church. Friends may call tomorrow (Friday) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. His funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Canandaigua. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Serenity House, 1278 Brace Road, Victor, NY 14564.
