I was sorry to learn of Elaine's passing. I never met Elaine in person but got to know her recently via facebook and email, we talked about our eyes/sports/the weather. Her great personality was easy to recognize from her communications, I always enjoyed hearing from her. My condolences to the family.

I went to school for many years with Elaine and graduated with her from Rankin High in 1963. We had not stayed in touch over the years until I recently connected with her on Facebook. It was a shock to hear of her passing. She was always "bigger than Life".

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Elaine's passing. We stayed in touch via Facebook after I left Midland in 2006. She and I both loved the NBA playoffs and we would write posts on Facebook for our respective teams. Elaine loved the Spurs and I love the Mavericks. This NBA playoff season won't be the same without you my dear friend. My condolences to the family. Elaine was a true gem.

My sympathy for your loss. I've known Elaine since she worked at Cities Service in 1974 with my late husband. She was a very special lady, and will be missed.

My condolences to the family. Elaine was my mother's best friend many, many years ago. Through the years, Elaine was always there for me, sending her love and support and, most recently, helping me when I lost a close friend. I will miss her. I already do. Deborah Darby

Elaine was a great pen pal. She told me so many stories and facts about the Eckols side of my family. I will miss her sense of humor and our conversations very much. Joe Eckols
