George Bogle Obituary

George "Papa" Bogle, 68, of Midland, unexpectedly and peacefully passed away surrounded by his family and loved ones at Midland Memorial Hospital on Friday, July 17, 2015. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel. George was born on September 3, 1946 in Pipestone, Minnesota to Ernest Robert Bogle and Marie Theresa Goni. He was the firstborn of four children; Joe, Annette and Mike. His family lived in Pipestone, Minnesota and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where they made their home and where most of his surviving family still resides. George was good at anything he did, but he was especially good with his hands. He could fix anything, build sheds and decks, match paint perfectly to anything and paint walls without a drop of paint on him. He was a manager at Kelly-Moore Paints and had such loyal employees and customers because of his loving and helpful nature. After George retired, he devoted all his time, energy and love to be with his family in any and every way he possibly could. He was very active and loved playing with grandkids even sitting at their tiny table and chairs to play. He especially loved getting to play golf many times a week with his best friend, Alan. Every October, George, his sons, and other family members would go fly fishing in the San Juan River in New Mexico. He looked forward to the trip all year and would prepare days ahead to bake his son's favorite cookies and make sure that the rest of the family was all taken care of before he left. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Debbie Windham Bogle; his children, Ed Bogle and his wife, Christine Zamora Bogle of Rio Rancho, Rick Bogle of Fort Worth, and Anna Bogle Buster and husband, Brian Buster of Albuquerque; his step-children, Kevin Hinshaw and wife, Katie Hinterlong Hinshaw of Midland, Patrick Hinshaw and his girlfriend, Sara Tomlinson of Midland, and Daniel Hinshaw and fiancé, Lauren Gonzales of Midland; his grandchildren, Vanessa Bogle Salazar and husband, Diego Salazar of Rio Rancho, Whitney Bogle Escudero and husband, Anthony Escudero of San Diego, Brian Bogle and his girlfriend, Tina Marie Saxton of Albuquerque, Tandi Bogle Wright and husband, Ryan Wright of Midland, Andrew Bogle of Midland, Mariah Rae Bogle of Albuquerque, Matthew Buster of Albuquerque, Jonathan Buster of Albuquerque, Emily Hinshaw of Midland, Braden Hinshaw of Midland, and Riley Hinshaw of Midland; his great-grandchildren, Jonny, Damien, plus one coming soon Salazar of Rio Rancho, Annaliese and Autumn Escudero of San Diego, Josiah Bogle of Albuquerque, and William and Dezmond Wright of Midland; his siblings, Joe Bogle and his wife, Diane Crowder Bogle of Albuquerque, Annette Bogle Curtis of Albuquerque, and Mike Bogle of Albuquerque; his nephews, Matthew Bogle and Austin Curtis of Albuquerque; and his nieces, Tracy Bogle and Kinzer Jackson of Albuquerque. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Robert Bogle and Marie Theresa Goni; and his son, Bobby Bogle. The entire family wants to express their thanks and extreme gratitude to Dr. Leela K. Lella, Mike, Victor, Larrah, and the rest of the critical care nursing staff at Midland Memorial Hospital. We greatly appreciate the care and compassion they had for George as a person and as a patient; their thoroughness in keeping the family completely informed about everything that was happening; the time they took to answer questions from every person in the family without rushing us; how they comforted us in any way that they could; and talked about and referred to George as if they were part of the family. There are not enough words to express how truly thankful and grateful we are that all of these people were there at our most heartbreaking time of need. Thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts. We will always remember you all! In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to High Sky Children's Ranch in Midland, Texas.
