Anthony Reid O'Dell McCreary, age 25, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, October 06, 2018, at his home. Reid was born in Surry County on December 9, 1992. So sweet and loving, Reid was a bright light to so many. He will be forever be cherished by his parents, Wade and Faith Lawson McCreary; as well as his brothers and a sister-in-law, Roby and Traci O'Dell, Joey O'Dell and Nikki Putera, nieces and a nephew, Colton O'Dell, Kaylee O'Dell, Valerie Layne McCreary; grandmothers, Sue McCreary, and Janice O'Dell; his very special nurses, Deanna Bish, Jessica Painter, Diane Lawson, Franklin Snow, and Debbie Bobbitt. Reid was preceded in death by his biological father, Mike O'Dell, Jr.; a brother, Josh McCreary; and grandparents, Kent and Hucie Lawson, and Mike O'Dell, Sr. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 8, 2018, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Sammy Lawson. Burial will follow Woodville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday beginning at 9:30. The family would like to express a very special thank you to his Bayada Nurses and Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care for the love and care given to Reid.
