Ellen Brown Obituary
Long Branch - Ellen M. Brown, 83, of Long Branch, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 at home. Born and raised in Long Branch, Ellen was a beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, wife and friend. She was a loving member of Second Baptist Church, Long Branch where she served as church clerk secretary and choir member for over 40 years. Ellen was predeceased by her first husband John T. Barrows in 1968 and her parents Junius E. Bass Sr. and Anna (Pitts) Bass. She is survived by her husband of 49 years David G. Brown, her son David G. Brown II, daughter-in-law Tasha Youngblood Brown, grand-daughters Tamyca Goff, Aaliyah C. Brown and Mya R. Brown as well as a host of nieces, nephews and family friends. Visitation will be Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 10:00 am at Second Baptist Church, 93 Liberty St., Long Branch. Rev. Aaron N. Gibson Sr. officiating. Final interment will follow at Monmouth Memorial Park Cemetery, Tinton Falls. Condolences can be made online at www.LawsonFuneralService.com

I have so many fond memories from my childhood summers spending time with Auntie Ellen, Uncle Dave and David. I remember catching fireflies in the back yard at dusk, anxiously waiting for her to make her world famous mac & cheese and my personal favorite; her deliciously, delicately, fried eggplant. I will so miss her warmth and kindness. My continued love and prayers to Uncle Dave, David, Tasha and the girls.
