Everett McIntire Obituary

Everett 'Jim' McIntire

Everett 'Jim' McIntire, 86, passed away at home, with his wife by his side, on the morning of December 25, 2020. Born June 21, 1934 in Bronx, New York, Jim lived in North Brunswick before moving to South Brunswick in 1960 when he married the love of his life, Beatrice 'Bebe' McIntire, where they raised their family for 47 years. Since 2007, they have lived in the community of Rossmoor in Monroe. A life-long proud U.S. Marine, Jim served from 1954 to 1957 as a Marine Corp Sergeant stationed in Korea and Japan. After serving his country, Jim joined PSE&G in 1958, retiring in 1993 after 35 years as a lineman and supervisor. In 1967, Jim became a Charter Member of the Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company and for the next 53 years, he was a devoted volunteer who served the department in many capacities, including Fire Chief and Fire Treasurer. In 1976, Jim, working with other leaders from the Monmouth Junction Fire Department, Kingston Fire Company and the South Brunswick Township Council, was instrumental in forming the Fire Districts within the township. After his tenure as Chief, he became a Fire Commissioner for the newly formed South Brunswick Fire District No. 1. For years, Jim was an avid bowler with a team of buddies from PSE&G. He was also a volunteer coach for both little league boys baseball and girls softball league in the 1970s. Jim especially loved to travel all over the world with Bebe and counted himself lucky to have taken many memorable trips with her. They also enjoyed being members of the Emerald Society at Rossmoor together. Predeceased by his parents, Everett and Velma McIntire, sister Bonnie Yahnig and brother-in-law, William Herrel; Jim 'Bo' is survived by his cherished wife of 60 years, Bebe; his beloved children Teri McIntire (Scott Carver), Tom McIntire (Deborah Terppe), Trisha McIntire (Dave Morrow) and Eileen McIntire-Bianchi (David Bianchi); his adored grandchildren, Faith Carver, Everett 'Rhett' Bianchi, David Bianchi and Kiera Morrow; his exceptional brother-in-law Paul Yahnig; dear sister-in-law Phyllis Herrel; and admired nephews, Bill, Mike and Keith Herrel and Paul Yahnig. Arrangements will be private and under the direction of M.J. Murphy Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be planned for June 2021 in accordance with Covid regulations. If you would like to make a donation in Jim's honor, please consider making it to Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company (Attention: Chief Perez, P.O. Box 41, Kendall Park, NJ 08824) or to your local first responders.
