Jane Scanlon Obituary
Clark - Jane Cronin Scanlon, 95, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at her home in Piscataway.
Born in Manhattan, NY to John and Janet Cronin she attended high school in Highland Park, Michigan where she found a life-long interest in physics and mathematics. She ultimately received a PhD from the University of Michigan in mathematics in 1949.
Her professional career spanned more than forty years with a retirement from Rutgers University in 1991.
She is survived by her four children, Justin of Flint MI, Mary Hathaway and husband Bill of Simsbury CT (daughters Allison and Sarah), Anne Yamakaitis and husband Mark of Clark NJ (daughter Bernadette and sons Mark and Jude) and Edmund and wife Michelle of Warren NJ (daughter Erin and son Gregory.)
Visitation will be held at the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home, 211 Westfield Ave., Clark on Friday June 22nd from 4-8PM. There will be a Funeral Mass at St. John the Apostle Church on Valley Road in Clark at 10am Saturday, June 23rd . Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in her name to St Pauls' church of Highland Park NJ. For additional information or to sign the guestbook, visit www.krowickigorny.com

Ed and family,
Ed, your mother sounds like an awesome person. Four children and professor at Rutgers with such distinction in physics and mathematics. I can understand you all are so proud of her, personally and professionally.
No matter what age we lose them, our parents are always near to our hearts. I lost mine in 2013. It is tough but there are so many wonderful memories and ways they still touch our lives everyday.
My deepest condolences to you all. Hang in there. May God grant you peace and comfort you at this time of grieving.
