Spotswood - John J. Fitzpatrick died on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at home. He was 73.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he resided there before moving to Spotswood 44 years ago. Prior to retiring, John was an electrician for Local Union 3 IBEW, Manhattan, NY. He was a former Trustee of the Spotswood Library Board, as well as former Chief and Treasurer of the Spotswood Fire Department. John was a member of Immaculate Conception Council #4907, Knights of Columbus, Spotswood, and its 4th Degree Assembly.

He was predeceased by his sister, Peggy Peyton, in 1995. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Regina Golden Fitzpatrick and their five children, Cathleen Decker and her husband, David, of East Brunswick, Dawn Fitzpatrick Dowd and her husband, Charlie, of Madison, CT, John Fitzpatrick and his husband, Anthony Bruttaniti, of Philadelphia, PA, Kerri Fitzpatrick and her husband, Lawrence Decker, of East Brunswick and Brian Fitzpatrick and his wife, Michelle, of Old Bridge, and ten beloved grandchildren: Casey, Conor, David, Tristan, Brendan, Caroline, Elizabeth, Katie, Aidan and Liam.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:15 AM at The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 11:00 AM Memorial Liturgy at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Spotswood.
