Joseph Cies Obituary
AGE: 75 • Edison
Joseph T. Cies, 75, of Edison passed away on August 12, 2017 at Cancer Treatment Center of Philadelphia. He was born in Lumberport, West Virginia to Thomas and Eleanor (Zerecky) Cies and moved to New Brunswick in 1944 as a young child. He attended St. Peter's Grammar and High School in New Brunswick.
Joseph retired as a Lieutenant for the Edison Police Dept. in 2004. He was also one of the original undercover agents for the Canine Dept. of the Edison Police; past treasurer of the Edison Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 101, Edison and was a member of Edison Elks Lodge #2487.
Joseph is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Eleanor (Zerecky) Cies. He is survived by his daughter Lori Ann Vitello and her husband Tony of Piscataway and three grandchildren Alexis, Anthony, and Kitreena Vitello. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Ann Kerr of North Brunswick and a brother John and his wife Joann of Oak Ridge, NJ. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and a great-nephew.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 2pm - 7pm at Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Avenue, Edison, NJ. A Funeral Mass will take place Saturday August 19, 2017 at St Matthew the Apostle Church, Edison at 9:30am. Interment will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, New Brunswick.
