Mark Stephen Shilling

AGE: 59 • Monmouth Beach

In loving memory of Mark Stephen Schilling, 59, of Monmouth Beach who died Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he lived most of his life in Southern California. He and his family moved to Monmouth Beach 3 years ago. Over the past 30 years Mark worked as a Senior Research Chemist for Unocal, a Senior Staff Engineer for Exxon Mobil and most recently a Senior Consultant for Corrosion Probe. He was a member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) and Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) where he contributed many articles and defined specifications for coating best practices.

Mark was predeceased by his father, John P. Schilling and his brother, John Schilling. Surviving are his wife, Natalie Schilling; son, Matthew Schilling; daughter, Juliana Schilling; his mother, Marie Schilling; 2 sisters, Nancy Armstrong and Marie Wood and his nephew, Ryan Armstrong.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Southern California. The Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch is in charge of the arrangements. Mark was a good friend of many years. We worked together on projects at KTA Tator. I was deeply saddened by his loss. I extend my deep sympathies to the family.
