Michael Clark Obituary

Michael Clark

Edison - Michael B. Clark, 60, of Edison passed into the hands of the Lord on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at home with his family beside him.

Born in Bayonne, the son of the late Bernard and Ruth Clark, he was a lifelong Edison resident and a communicant of St Francis of Assisi Cathedral in Metuchen.

After graduating from Middlesex County Vocational School, Mike began his career as an Automotive Mechanic, working at Chevrolet Dealerships in Rahway, Edison & Bridgewater, attaining ASE Master Technician Status.

For over seven years, Mike has been employed by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority as a Grade One Mechanic for the Garden State Parkway. He loved classic cars and took extreme pride, rightfully so, of his complete restoration of his 1972 El Camino and 1987 Chevy Silverado Truck.

Mike was always there for his family. Whether it be your car broken down in the middle of the night 50 miles away, or in need of a new roof, new railings, new plumbing fixtures, trees cut, whatever, he'd be there and get it done. His 24/7 care for his Mother during her extended illness years ago is an exemplary example of his character and devotion to his family.

You could seldom have a conversation with Mike without his quoting a line from The Godfather, Pulp Fiction, Goodfellas, DeathProof or The Freshman. Have a question about Elvis Presley's life and music? Mike's your answer man! He was an avid fan since he was just a boy and enjoyed quite a few trips to Graceland over the years. His entering a room always commanded attention; and once in, his CHARISMA and gentlemanly manner would instantly charm you. He was a true Man's Man.

Mike and his adoring wife Alberta (Bertie) were inseparable since they were teenagers and had been married for 37 years. He'd often speak of how blessed they were to have found each other when they were so young.

Surviving are his wife Alberta (nee Weissenburger) Clark; sister Coleen Basista and husband James, brother Thomas K. Clark and wife Ruth, niece Kelly Marie Clark,

Aunt Patricia Romano, and his wife Alberta's loving family.

Visitation is Monday, November 12 from 4-9 PM at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home 568 Middlesex Ave. (RT 27) Metuchen. Dear Coleen & Tom,

My Mom and I are thinking of both of you at this time. We will always remember watching Mike as he cared for his beloved El Camino. When the winter storms came he would often take time to help out my Mom with snow removal across the street at her house. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you both as you cherish and celebrate Mike's life and wonderful character.

Sincerely,

Chris Kulminski Scofield & Blanche Kulminski
