Michael A. Maddaluna

Bernardsville - Michael A. Maddaluna, 84, of Bernardsville passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at his home. He was born in Bernardsville on December 10, 1933, a son of the late Americo J. and Stephanie D'Angelo Maddaluna, and had been a lifelong resident.

He was a graduate of Bernards High School in Bernardsville and a US Army veteran of the Korean War having served with the medics.

Mr. Maddaluna was a plumber having owned and operated Michael A. Maddaluna Plumbing and Heating in Bernardsville for nearly 60 years retiring in 2013.

He was a former member of the Bernardsville Lions Club and a communicant of the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bernardsville. He loved to travel and enjoyed being social meeting up with friends and family.

He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen Kohrs Maddaluna who died May 8, 1998.

Mr. Maddaluna is survived by a daughter, Nancy M. Kurtz and her husband, Randy, of Fort Collins, CO; two sons, Jeffrey W. Maddaluna and his wife, Debbie, of Bernardsville and David M. Maddaluna and his wife, Anita, of Mt. Pleasant, NC; a sister, Emily Gennetti of New Providence; and ten grandchildren, Kelsey, Erin, Brad, Rachel, Emma, Zachary, Cory, Lindsey, Morgan and Kendall.

Funeral gathering at the Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster on Wednesday, December 5 at 9:00am followed by a mass at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Bernardsville at 10:00am. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center, 575 Woodland Avenue, Madison, NJ 07945.
