Pam Berkery Obituary

Pam Denise Berkery

South Brunswick

Pam Denise Berkery passed away after a short illness, on Saturday, May 5, 2012 with her family by her side. Pam was born on November 4, 1964 in Rahway, NJ. She moved with her family to South Brunswick in 1976. Pam attended South Brunswick High School where she met and then married her husband George Berkery. Pam enjoyed being outdoors, everything from skiing, hiking, camping to the beach and traveling with her husband, children and families. She took every opportunity to fill her families life with adventure. Not a day would go by that she did not have a schedule together of what and when they were going to do something. Pam was not one to plan too far in advance, but she took advantage of the present day. Pam worked for the US Postal Service, but her job did not define her. Her long time relationships she made with her customers brought her satisfaction in her job. She was also a Girl Scout Leader for several years and embraced helping the girls in her troop make the most of learning opportunities and having fun. Pam made life fun. She had the best contagious laugh. She was always quick with a big hug and a kiss. Her family came first. The unconditional love she had for her husband George and her two beautiful girls was something to admire and strive for. Her love for her family was just about equally matched by her love of her friends. Pam would always step in to help a worthy cause or a friend in need.

Pam will be dearly missed by her loving husband, George; her daughters, Gina and Julie; her father, William Kolesar; her sister, Rene' and brother-in-law, James Gambino; her mother-in-law, Lorilei Berkery; sister-in-laws, Gayle Berkery, Lisa Berkery, Geralyn Berkery and brother-in-laws, Thomas Berkery, his wife Karen, Martin Berkery and his wife Lisa along with her niece, Megan and nephews, Drew and Ryan along with all who came into her life.

The funeral will be held 8:45 am on Friday, May 11, 2012 from the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, 45 Henderson Road, Kendall Park. Burial will follow Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick. Friends may call on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the funeral home.

My condolences to George, Gina, Julie and, indeed, all of the Berkerys on their loss.

I hope it won't be long before the sadness they now feel passes, replaced by memories of all the happy times they shared with their dear wife, mother and relative.

I knew Pam as the little sister of my childhood best friend. She was like a little sister to me as well. I will always remember her warm smile and sunny soul. My heart goes out to her family, friends and all who loved her. I know she will be missed, but I am equally sure she will remain in their hearts forever.

My deepest sympathy to the family, my heart heart goes out to Pam's daughter's and husband George. I have good memories of Pam. We worked together at the VMF while she was on detail. My children, who are grown now, still talk about Pams chocolate cake and pudding dessert! Pam was a sweet heart. I remember when I lost a dear close friend of mine and I hadn't heard from Pam in a while and she reached out to me. I really appreciated her words of encouragement and love. She was a good friend and she will be missed.
May God Comfort, Bless and Keep, You and Your family.
